MORNING MERCY

The bible, in Lam 3:22-23 teaches that, Gods mercies are new every morning, When you read the New Testament, you'll notice it was the normal practice of Jesus to rise up early and pray. One verse says, he rose up early before the sunrise, and went out to pray. Christ made it a habit to capture those early morning hours. Before the day begins, before the phones start ringing, before there are problems to solve, before temptation starts to work on us, we should follow Jesus example and catch that Morning Mercy.

Here are a few Lessons from this verse:

1. God made mercy available to us, before we even knew we needed it
2. Each day has the potential for sin and disobedience, but mercy is waiting to help us
3. Everyday can be a blessing and full of hope, if we'd start off seeking his mercy
4. Each mornings mercy is a new opportunity from God to wipe the slate clean, and make things right with God.

Now we know why the old folks used to say, "Lord have mercy". Its wasn't a cliche, it was a real prayer. Morning Mercy, lets catch it.

105 People saved in 10 Days

God is on the move, and WOW it is good. My last two meetings were in Mesa Arizona and McAllen Texas. During those 10 days, were saw God save a total of 105 people. Amen! The Devil just lost some good clients. The Lord was literally bringing visitors in right off the streets. Calls for salvation brought forth large numbers each night. Both of these revivals were fruitful and exciting. God is doing something good. As the world becomes more desperate, God is responding with hope through salvation. Many are opening their eyes to the lies of sin, and running to Jesus. We are so blessed to be a part of a real move of God. I've got a feeling, its going to be a bad year for the Devil.

Virtuous Women

On my way home today, I was flipping through the radio channels and heard an interesting song. The chorus said, "girls you can't do what the guys do, and still be a lady". I felt those words. Our culture is a culture of Bad Girls, Girls gone Wild and Loose Women. I realize that politically women are on the move. Lots of progress with rights, freedoms, and opportunities. But that being true, Its still right, biblical, and desirable for a woman to be a lady. The message of the song is don't sacrifice your virtue on the altar of liberty.

A new breed

Proverbs 31 in the bible speaks about a virtuous woman. God exalts her because she maintains her integrity, loves God and her family. The virtuous woman is not like what we see today; Hip Hop whores, women of the night and brawlers who have surrendered their dignity for pleasure. Our modern world celebrates woman's liberties, but remember, just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should.

 I still remember old fashioned chivalry when men respected women, opened doors for them, and got up to let them sit. What has changed? Culture has downplayed the value of being a lady. Lionel Richie sang in the 70's, "you're once, twice, three time a lady". 

Women didn't use to yell in a crowd, get drunk, live loose and immoral, cuss or fight in a public place. Today videos of girl fights are popular entertainment. Women's dress, has lost the standard of biblical modesty. Its either compromise modesty or look rough and tumble like a construction worker.

Everything goes wrong when Jesus is left out of our lives and culture. Women and men both find true peace, happiness, and satisfaction, when Jesus is accepted and declared Lord. God is still looking for women who will accept the challenge to be a "Virtuous Woman".

Many words can describe modern society, but a relevant one is confusion. Consider the bad choices people make & the wrong directions people follow. A common phrase today is "I don't know". With God, we have a redeemer who guides us. There has never been in a time in history, where the old fashioned guiding forces of life have all been ruined. People used to rely on the bible and family to guide them, now its anything from a fortune cookie, to a t.v. talk show. Most people today have no sense of direction.

If you don't know where you're going in life, it doesn't matter which path you choose, you're still going nowhere. That means  years can pass with lots of movement, yet very little progress. God offers us prayer, his Spirit, his word, and his counsel.  Get connected and stay connected to God. He has a destiny for you, and will lead you to success & salvation.
